Syracuse Defense Shines Despite Loss | Syracuse Orangemen Football News

Syracuse’s defense is flying under the radar but soaring in performance—ranked 30th nationally and 4th in the ACC after just two games, they’re holding opponents to under three yards per carry and boasting elite tackling. While the pass rush isn’t flashy (only seven sacks), Tunmise Adeleye leads the charge with top-tier grades. Keyshawn Johnson and Chris Peal are anchoring a surprisingly stout secondary that’s kept QBs under 182 yards per game. Turnovers and penalties remain issues, but this unit’s rise from last year could be the key to Syracuse’s bowl hopes.
