Syracuse Dominance vs Cal Struggles | Syracuse Orangemen Football News

Cal heads east for a brutal 2,700-mile road test against Syracuse, favored by 3.5 points in their big Saturday showdown. New Cal coach Tosh Lupoi’s debut was rocky—his defense crumbled, surrendering 277 rushing yards and 21 unanswered points in a loss to UCLA. Quarterback Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele showed promise but threw two picks. Meanwhile, Syracuse is firing on all cylinders after a 66-3 demolition of New Hampshire, led by QB Steve Angeli—a near-flawless passer with just three career interceptions—and a dynamic RB duo. With Cal still adjusting under new leadership and Syracuse riding momentum at home, the Orange are the clear pick to cover the spread.
