Syracuse Sports Legends Inducted

Syracuse is set to honor its sports royalty as the Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame unveils its Class of 2026 — a powerhouse lineup featuring Robert Drummond, the star of Syracuse’s 1987 undefeated football team, who went on to NFL and CFL glory. Joining him are seven other trailblazers: hockey coach Fran Colabufo, longtime team doctor Dr. Bruce Baker, softball legend Carol “Stash” Stanley — who invented gear used by MLB players — and the historic 1972 East Syracuse Minoa football team. This celebration of athletic excellence, spanning decades and disciplines, takes place October 26 at the Oncenter, spotlighting the enduring legacy of Syracuse’s greatest sports figures.
