Syracuse’s Big Freshman Lineman

Syracuse Orange’s 2026 recruiting class just got a massive boost with 6-foot-6, 290-pound freshman tackle Brayden Charney, a three-star prospect from Cardinal Newman in Florida — the same high school that launched NBA star Scottie Barnes and golf legend Brooks Koepka. Charney, who started and captained his high school team to a 10-win playoff run, has already joined spring practice and is expected to redshirt this season to bulk up and master the college game — a smart move for a future cornerstone on the offensive line.
