Syracuse’s Big New Lineman

Syracuse Orange football eyes big things from redshirt freshman Kardiear Shepherd — a 6’7”, 310-pound local talent from Cicero-North Syracuse who committed in April 2024 over Buffalo. Rated a three-star recruit, Shepherd spent last season developing behind the scenes, with coaches watching closely for his potential impact. One of 17 NY State natives on the roster, he shares roots with linebacker Josh Kubala, highlighting Syracuse’s strong local pipeline. With his size and upside, Shepherd could be a key piece in building depth and future success for the Orange as they gear up for 2026.
