In 2012, after months of trying, she finally saw a positive pregnancy test only to end up in emergency surgery with an ectopic pregnancy. In 2016, Katelyn decided to try again. This time, gearing up for an IVF round that would most definitely be the answer to their prayers. Enter breast cancer. Katelyn’s planned IVF cycle ends up being a fast track round of IVF to preserve her eggs before undergoing treatment to fight the cancer that now took center stage in her life. As if this situation isn’t high stakes enough, Katelyn yielded one healthy baby boy embryo from that IVF cycle. He’s waiting patiently while Kaitlin fights the biggest battle of her life. ONE. HEALTHY. BOY.
