T1D & Ultra Endurance with Roddy Riddle

Today I talk with T1D Ultra Endurance Athlete, the one and only Roddy Riddle. Roddy is a former International cyclist who was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the late age of 40. In 2013, he ran the Marathon Des Sables Ultra Marathon, which is a 154-mile race in the Sahara Desert of Morocco. In 2016, he first attempted the Arctic 6633 Ultra Marathon, which is a 352-mile race in the Yukon of Canada, pulling out only 70 miles from the finish line. One year later in 2017, he returned to become the first Scotsman and first T1D to finish the Arctic 6633 in 2nd place; holding the 6th fastest time in race history.
