TA Announces Sui Ling Ko To Become First Female Head of Subway Car Maintenance; 5 Suspects Threw A Stolen CitiBike Onto The Subway Tracks Causing A Massive Explosion Underground
from HubTalk Chronicles Podcast
Sui Ling Ko, a 34-year veteran of NYCT’s Department of Subway Car Equipment has become the first female head of Subway Car Maintenance. She will oversee the subway fleet of 7,092+ cars and the 24/7 operations of the 13 maintenance, two overhaul and locomotive shops. 5 suspects have showed up to the Steinway Street subway stop in Astoria, Queens with a stolen CitiBike and dumped it on the southbound platform track. A S/B (R) train arrived at the station and hit the bike, causing the explosion. No injuries were reported (not that I’m aware of). Police are still seeking the suspects in question. An update will be given on a future podcast episode. Also, explaining my two-week absence due to a sore throat condition and the events caused by Hurricane/Tropical Storm Ida as well as the woman who forced herself into a crowded subway car, questioning proper subway equities. Please enjoy.
