Taaffes Medieval Castle Carlingford - part 1

from Dundalk FM 100 Podcast Feed

Eileen Corcoran from Dundalk FM visited a family who entered Taaffes Castle in medieval Carlingford for a week to live exactly as they did during the period of King John in 1210 The family can be seen foraging for their food, cooking their meals, playing medieval games, milking goats and tending to their animals throughout the entire week. The general public were also invited to visit the diminutive medieval village to the fore of the castle where trades from the period will be demonstrated including candlemaking, butter churning and the building of an original Irish Curragh which will be constructed on site over the 7 days.
