The key is understanding the difference between forgiveness and reconciliation - forgiveness removes the debt and is commanded by God, while reconciliation restores the relationship and isn't always possible or safe. You can be a strong, grounded presence, take the first step toward healing, and release control of outcomes you can't manage. Most importantly, God's reconciliation with us is always available through confession and faith in Jesus, providing the foundation for how we approach all other relationships.
