Tacoma Shelter Overwhelmed by Cat Rescues | Spokane News

Cats are flooding into Tacoma’s Humane Society—over 500 in total, with emergency rescues from a house, a sailboat, and even a car. Many arrive sick, flea-ridden, or with severe health issues, straining shelter resources and forcing temporary kennels. Volunteers need your help: foster homes are urgently needed, and donations of towels, paper towels, and newspapers are welcome. The shelter’s staff are working nonstop to treat, vaccinate, and spay/neuter every cat before adoption—while police investigate the origins of these crises.
