Take my hand
from Poetry by Tim Windisch · host Tim Windisch
Take my hand I’ve been kicked around like an old play ball, been hammered like a nail Kicked to my knees when I tried to stand tall, every time I tried to win, I’d fail Until you shared the air so close to my face, my knees felt weak, it was hard to stand My fears were gone without a trace, from the moment you said baby take my hand Got used to “So long it’s been nice, you’re really sweet you deserve to be happy one day” Didn’t think I’d ever set foot in paradise, or get to walk with an angel every step of the way Blessed by something I can’t find words for, but it’s a feeling so beautiful and grand Never been anything I ever heard before, made me happier then when you said take my hand Take my hand, walk along with me Together think of everything we’ll see Tomorrow’s a mystery until it is known Take my hand and let’s enjoy whatever we’re shown Take today, and each one after, for eternity I will stand Sharing your tears and your laughter, oh baby take my hand Tim Windisch 06/08/2022
