Take up space!

from Being Aloud · host Bee Bishay

Send us Fan MailToday's episode is part one of a two-part series that aims to challenge society in its expectation of us to dim our lights in order not to offend. Aren't you tired of being told you're too much? Hasn't this shrinking narrative taken enough of your energy—energy that you could otherwise have been using to live the big life you've been put on this earth to live? I for one am done with making less of myself in order to avoid criticism. I'm done with trying to be less of myself in order to appease a system that has never worked in my favor. Today's episode highlights some of the ways by which our characters are subconsciously flattened by society's influence all around us. My hope is that, by giving voice to the things we all know deep inside us, we will attain a language that can help us identify society's dimming mechanisms and help us combat them in our everyday lives. Support the showIf you like this podcast, please leave a review, like, share, and subscribe.
