Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines

2-6-2022 Weekly Messages Meditation of the Week: Psalm 91:1-16 Text: Song of Solomon 2:14-16 Sermon Title: Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines        The song of Solomon is called the Song of Songs. It means beautiful song. But the song of Solomon is not just a beautiful song, it is a love duet between the Lord Jesus Christ, the King of kings, Lord of Lords and Creator God, and his bride. It is a duet that cannot be compared to the love duet performed by two opera singers men and women in opera house in the world. It is a supremely beautiful love duet, sung in the Holy Ghost between the Christ and Christians who are the bride of Christ, who has received eternal life through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.     In the present world ruled by Satan the devil, the bride of Christ is held in the bosom of Christ, and through the fellowship with him in prayer, she enjoys the righteousness, peace, and joy that come from the fellowship with him in the kingdom of God (Romans 14:17).  King Solomon spoke of the situation of the Shulemite woman in her world. Solomon’s words are the words of the Lord Jesus Christ to his Bride, the Church of God: “O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely. “ (Sol 2:14).          The Lord is saying that to protect his bride from the attacks of Satan the devil, he is hiding her in a secret place on a steep mountain. He is telling the bride who only sees only  ahead like a dove to show the Lord her face hiding in secret places. The Lord, who sees only his bride like a dove in the midst of extreme hardship, is telling the bride to be comforted by looking only at himself. He says that the bride’s voice speaking to the Lord in prayer is sweet even in the midst of suffering, and that the appearance of such a bride is beautiful.         Moses, the man of God, confessed to the Lord in prayer: ”  He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.” (Psalm 91:1-3).          Martin Luther, who rose up against the Roman Catholic Church and led the Reformation, professed his faith in one of his hymns. saying, “God is our refuge strong, let all find welcome here, here though earth stand no more, though oceans rage and roar and break the mountains o’er, we shall not fear!”          Moses so desperately wanted to see the glory of God, he asked God: ” And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. 19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. 20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. 21 And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: 22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: 23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen..'” (Exodus 33:18-23).         No one could see God until Jesus Christ shed His blood to take away the sin of the world. But Christians, whose sins are forgiven and washed away by the blood of Christ, become his bride and can see and fellowship with him in the Holy Ghost in prayer. All he wanted was the glory of God, which Moses had so longed to see, that he could commune with him like a Sulemite woman and sing a song of love. The more than five hundred hymns we have heard are love duets sung by the bride of Christ, like the Shulemite woman, with Christ in her fellowship with Him.         The Apostle Paul pleaded with the suffering saints at that time: ” Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus..” ( Philippians 4:6-7)            The Apostle Paul wrote a letter of consolation to the saints in fellowship with Christ: “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.” (1 Corinthians 13:12).        Finally, King Solomon made a request to the woman of Sulemite: “Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes. ” (Sol 2:15).         One day, a little fox disguised as a serpent appeared in the Mount Eden to Adam and Eve, who were in the fellowship  walking with God every day. They failed to catch the little fox. The little fox appeared to separate the first man from God. It tempted them so that they may   not able to have fellowship with God.        God had told the first man, ” Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” (Genesis 2:16-17). You said.        The fox, who came to the Garden of Eden disguised as a serpent, seduced Eve and said, ” Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?‘ (Genesis 3:1), Eve was deceived by the little fox and said, “Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. “(Genesis 3:3), She told the little fox things that God had not told her. Just then the little fox said to Eve to spoil the vines in the Garden of Eden. “Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” (Genesis 3:4-5).          At that very moment, the woman looked at the tree, and that one glance caused her to sin, and thus, not only herself, but all mankind, have been born in sin so that they could not have fellowship with God.          Because of the first man, all human beings have lived in sin, death, and curses. Therefore  God took pity on the world where fellowship with God was cut off. God has given life to those who believe in Jesus Christ and receive salvation through the sinless blood in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, so that we are able to have fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ through the Holy Ghost.            In order to separate the Church of God, which became Eden through the blood of Jesus Christ, from God, Satan the devil is still trying to spoil the vines as a little fox. This little fox is still tempting the bride of Christ for her to commit sins to prevent her from fellowship with God. Through the Apostle John, God gave a witness about the restoration of fellowship between Christ and the btide: ” If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:6-9).          Even now, the little foxes who attack whenever they have time to spoil the vines are making God’s children look at the things they shouldn’t look at for her to commit sins. Therefore, we must always watch and pray and take the  little foxes in the name of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Ghost whenever we find little foxes in the house, or in the church, or in the world where we are living.
