Take Your Own Pulse: It's the Law TDMSS2E4

The summer before I started medical school, required reading for the incoming students was the novel The House of God by Samuel Shem. Inside that novel was a blunt look at the inhumanity of the American medical system. Law Three from The House of God states: "At a cardiac arrest, the first procedure is to take your own pulse." Here's a variation on the third law that can help you develop the mindset necessary to grow the profitability of your ideal medical practice and to grow as a human being.
