from Smart Women Talk · host Smart Women Talk

Join Annalee and Katana as they discuss :The true toll of caregiving without a plan.What an aging plan is and why it is important to have one.Ways to avoid caregiver burnout.Annalee Kruger worked as a social worker in long-term care for over 18 years. She had families coming to tour who were blindsided by a medical crisis every day. Often, their loved one was in the hospital and the family was told to ”find a facility by noon tomorrow.” Nearly every family had NO idea what their loved one already had in place for a plan, what their resources or insurance was, if they had their medical/financial directives in place, and they had NO idea what to look for and ask about during the tour. In 2011 Annalee built Care Right to help families across the country TALK about what is in place, what is working well, what is not working well, and develop an Aging plan PROACTIVELY.
