She brings over 26 years of health care experience, including roles in prehospital emergency care as a paramedic, Level I and II trauma centers, community emergency medicine, primary care, and health care education.Dr. Shanks earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Lourdes University in Sylvania, Ohio. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner from Herzing University in Madison, Wisconsin, and completed her undergraduate studies at Mercy College of Ohio.For the past two years, Dr. Shanks has led the medical team at Community Health, a mobile integrated health care program serving Manatee County.
