Talarico Surges in Texas Senate Race | US News

Democrat James Talarico is turning the Texas Senate race into a fierce battleground, leveraging a massive fundraising surge to outspend and outmaneuver GOP frontrunner Ken Paxton. With high-dollar fundraisers and aggressive ads—including one mocking Paxton’s “thousand-dollar pen”—Talarico is painting his opponent as out of touch, while also highlighting Paxton’s impeachment history. Though Paxton has Trump’s backing, he’s facing donor pushback over lawsuits and internal GOP tensions over border and tech issues. Analysts now call the race a toss-up—despite Texas’ deep Republican lean—thanks to Talarico’s relentless campaign momentum and heavy ad spending.
