Talent Comes Before Process

How we think about hiring talent has been around for decades. We make them jump through hoops with evaluation tests, interviews, and more. One business leader even told me he asked the people interviewing him why they did things a certain way, to which they replied, "I don't know. We've always done it like this." Are we spending too much focusing on the process of finding top talent instead of on the talent itself?
