In the dead of night as people sleep, that is when the spirits creep. As the bell tolls three dark things take power, we like to call it the supernatural hour. Hey, welcome to the supernatural hour. This is your host Raven.

This is Chad. This is Moon. This is Belmont. And we have a special guest host with us today.

Hi, I'm Batman. Batman. Batman. Where are they?

And we haven't fired Whiskey. He just, he had to go to the dentist today and so his mouth is all closed. So... He's feeling a little crooked.

Yeah. I'll have a combander. Aww. So Whiskey, if you're listening, we hope you get feeling better.

I actually have something I need to take to him, so I will get that to him. I hate the dentist. I would rather go to the doctor at 100 times a day than ever have to go to the dentist, ever. I don't know why.

I love my dentist. He's such a nice guy, but dental work. No, I'm good. My foregrounds agree with you.

I was just saying, I have four cousins, so me and the dentist. Our friends and unwillingly, but they're good. No, I get that. I have seven children.

I got to the point where I'd go sit in the doctor's office with them just for general checkups. But just when you have that many kids, there's just that much sick. And the doctor came out to get some paperwork for whoever he was looking at. And he saw me and he's like, hey, call me my name.

And I'm like, oh, great. My doctor knows me by sight. Sweet. That's amazing.

But it's still better than the dentist knowing me my name. So I'm going to do it by name actually. Because I look at your chart like, oh, hi, Moon. I'm going to help Daniel your name.

I hope you look up your chart. So we have to do the right stuff for you. We have some cool information, don't we, Jan? We do.

We have a new investigation that is going to be February 21st at the clubhouse in Salt Lake City. It is the old women's literary club. It was built between 1911 and 1913. It's on the Utah historic register and the national historic register.

It's going to be pretty cool. We're looking forward to that. Yeah, I'm so excited to investigate someplace we've never been to before. We'll have tickets up on Event Right and at eventsparanormal.com.

It's going to be a really great venue. If we haven't gone there before, they have said they have had activity there. So we're looking forward to it. It's like on 850 South Temple in Salt Lake.

So we're excited to get an investigation up in the northern part of Salt Lake City. We've had so much down in southern Utah County. I'm so happy. Yeah, I know.

I thought Moon will be so happy. And didn't they say that they have had other groups out there? They had some of the people come through and do some things. It hasn't been investigated like this per se where they have an investigation come in, but they've had public investigation.

They've had groups coming in and investigate it just as their own group. And not as a public investigation, but to my knowledge. Okay, cool. No, this will be fun.

I'm excited for this. So we haven't forgotten our movie meetup. So like I said, on our last podcast, sometimes we just get a little slow, but we it is on my list of two things. So as soon as we get that, we will get that up.

But we do have our investigation. So look for that on Event Right and on our Facebook page and on our website come up really soon. That's it for that and the business was brought to you by Castle Photo Art Go to Castle for all your photo needs. He does a really good job.

He's got some really great nature shots too. If you're looking just for fine photo art for your home that kind of stuff in office. So we are going to talk about Talisman and Talisman is being sponsored by Oteos. They are fantastic.

If you haven't eaten there, please go do because you are missing out on some fine food. And Talisman is basically, I'm sure everyone's heard of it. It's really popular if you read any sort of fantasy type books, sci-fi books to a certain extent. But the meaning of Talisman is basically an object that you have that acts as a charm to avert evil or to bring good luck your way.

And that's what we're going to talk about tonight because it sounds kind of cool to me. Bad guys spend their whole lives trying to find those things too. I know in video games, they're very cool video games. Whiskey's not here, so he can't talk about famous talisman.

I'm going to look that up really quick. So Moon, why don't you talk about the types of talisman and I will look up Whiskey's famous talisman really quick. Okay, sounds good. So there are seven types of talisman.

One is a natural talisman and they are natural from nature like stones and herbs, crystals or from animal parts like a rabbit's foot and a four leaf clover are natural talisman and are a token for good luck. Another example is wearing jade. You can also bring good luck and fortune and promote balance that way. So that's the first one and the second one is religious talisman and these talismans signify something religious like rosaries or crosses or medallions of a saint or other spiritual figures and they are warned for protection and blessings from us, spiritual entity or deity.

The third talisman is a symbolic one. So these are objects representing cultural, historical or mystical significance. The fourth one is a man-made talisman which these are created with an intention in mind like they can be jewelry or engraved stones or ritualistic items. They tend to be charged or consecrated with rituals or prayers.

And I've heard that Batman knows the fifth, sixth and seventh ones. So why don't you tell us about those Batman? Well absolutely. So the next one is of the intergalactic type planetary or is it planetary intergalactic?

I don't remember. But planetary talismans, these have astrological principles to draw energy of specific planets and astrological signs. I'm a very good by the way. They're usually made of at specific times during the astrological alignments.

And then there's an amulet talisman. Amulets are usually used for protection. Some are also used to attract certain energies like health, love, prosperity. I could use one of those.

The next one is a written talisman. They're objects with prayer inscriptions, mantras or magical symbols. And if you get thinking about it, first when I was looking at topics it would be fun to talk about. It's like, ooh talisman, that's kind of cool.

And then I thought, I know what a talisman is but if you'd ask me to describe one I would have been like, I don't know. Actually I've encountered talisman in like books. When I was in high school I loved reading fantasy books. And so I was like, I know what a talisman is.

And my brain, when I would read the book and the character had a talisman, I think I just kind of envisioned like a generic necklace. And so I got looking at some of the more popular and or famous talisman. And I think everyone will recognize most of these anyway. So one really popular one.

And I actually have, I think a bracelet of this, but the evil eye. Have you guys seen the evil eye? Just kind of the blue disc with the lighter blue circle and the black circle? Yes.

Inside of that. Yeah. I feel like in Greek, Greek tradition. Because there's like a huge Greek area here, turban rings.

So it's like everywhere. Yeah. And I think I think that they go back as far as ancient Greece as far as we know, but they're found everywhere. So the idea is that the flex, the negative energy of an evil glare.

So we say, oh, you know, I have an evil eye. It's not that you have an evil eye. The flex, the evil eye. But it's found everywhere.

Southern Europe, Central Asia, and the least. Some people don't consider this some of these some do, but like also Turkey, Israel, Greece, Armenia, Iran, Lebanon. But you see these purses bracelets. I've got a bracelet or a ring somewhere else.

Then there's one. I wasn't familiar with this one. It's called the Greek green. It is actually from an Islamic tradition.

I've also used in West Africa and the Caribbean. Cajun and Creole communities in Louisiana. It's a protective talisman. And it's typically a small cloth bag that's got some special ingredients in it depending on what you're trying to do.

And that ward's off the evil spirits. That's just a little bag. I don't know that anyone says a famous one. That's not well known to me, but people that are listening to me like, oh, yeah, totally.

The other one is an ech. That's how you'd say it in Egypt or in Arabic. Inka, A-H. So it's the Egyptian.

You see it in the higher voice. It's like a cross, but the top of it is a loop. So it symbolizes eternal life. It's also known as the key of life.

And it's thought to represent the union between heaven and earth. And these were usually placed on mummies to ensure that, because in the Egyptian culture, ancient Egyptian culture, they literally lived to die. They just spent their whole life preparing for the afterlife. But these were talisman placed on mummies to ensure that the person who had died would be reborn into a pleasant afterlife.

The other one is a ganesha. These are the elephants representing the Hindu gods of beginning. They are elephant-headed gods with forearms. And they're thought to remove obstacles and allow wares to move forward in life.

Things like new endeavors, move, or get married, or whatever it is you're going to do. And then afterlife disruptions is something that they also protect against. Another popular one is the seal of Solomon. And we would know it as a star of David, just the use to your standard to overlapping triangles one pointing up from the other pointing down.

I did not know this, but the upward pointing triangle represents fire, sky, and masculinity. And the downward indicates water, earth, and femininity. And so when you put them together, the two triangles provide the ultimate universal protection, so you just kind of cover everything. This is another one that I think everyone will know.

It's called the Hamsa Hand. And it's also called the Hand of Fatima and the Hamsa Hand. They are Arabic. Hamsa actually means five, so if you think about it, your hand has five fingers.

So it'd be like saying your five-fingered hand. To me, I don't know why I study this in school, but to me this is more Hindu, so maybe I'm wrong. But it symbolizes hospitality, generosity, and the beneficial power of God. Besides the Arabic community, it's also very popular in Israel and among Jewish people.

It says it provides protection for the owner and his or her loved ones. And I call it the Hand of Fatima because she was the daughter of Muhammad, and he considered her to be one of the four perfect women. The others were his wife, Khadisha, Pharaoh's wife, and the Virgin Mary. So it's the right hand, which is the hand of honor, and each finger represents a member of a team's family.

And the five fingers also symbolize the five pillars of Islam. So that's what that means. So now we're going to kind of come away from Islam in the Middle East. The other one is a Sacred Heart, and it looks like a heart with a crown coming out of it.

This is one of the most notable Roman Catholic symbols, and the Sacred Heart presents Jesus's Heart, and its crown in thorns represents his love and sacrifice for all humankind. It's also often shown in combination with the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and that's the one that's pierced with a sword instead of the crown of thrones. And when they show them together, it's meant to represent the power of their hearts in use. I didn't realize this was a talisman.

I just thought it was a cute thing. But have you ever gone into any sort of an Asian store or a salon or a karate, and they've got the cat with the one arm sticking up in the air? Yeah, and it's waving in the cat. Yeah, and it's called a kat or something.

Yeah. So I have it, I guess the official name is a Maneki-neko. I don't know if I'm pronouncing that right. If you listen to a fucking link at the time, we can't pronounce anything but the English and even there we struggle sometimes.

Sometimes. It's also known as the Beckening Cat, and it sits with its par rays, but like you said, sometimes you'll see it waving. I don't think I've ever seen it not waving. And usually rests on a mallet that's inscribed with the words for fuku, which means luck, and that's what it's supposed to bring.

So those are kind of the famous ones that you'll see all the time. So technically a rabbit's foot could be a talisman. Well, see, that's what I was going to ask. Do you guys think that anything could be a talisman?

I don't think anything couldn't be a talisman. Well, that kind of had me thinking, oh, like tattoos in talisons and things I was kind of looking into it. I saw a lot of people online were having conversations about tattoos and it kind of brought up the concept of what a talisman is compared to a sigil and amulet. So some kind of things that they were saying was a sigil is basically just a signature, a symbol that opens a certain energy content, like how your singer can represent your intended purpose for legal reasons, like when you sign something.

A talisman is an object charged with a certain energy. So they're saying it's an object often for the purpose of being carried with an individual. It's not a benefit, but if you're carrying an object, think about a tattoo. A massigil can be used to charge a talisman, but sigils can also be used in other ways, such as burning or getting the talis and assays.

Talisman is common in straight forward way. So they can't go hand in hand a lot. Getting a tattoo of a certain sigils that is always with you is essentially creating a permanent talisman and it's what you want to recharge. So when you charge a saloon, or a cicil themselves can have many purposes.

Like there are many like witches nods, Celtic crosses, so kind of symbolism like you guys were saying with the hand and the lotus flower. But you can choose to make one yourself with a sigil. And people are saying that having one major stuff will come to a certain type of vanish negative energy or a lucky charm like before you go over a rabbit's foot. Like love or prosperity or meta-satch it is like money which might be considered a talisman.

So people are saying that sigil and talisman people think of as interchangeable. So it's a sigil essentially a talisman, but not all talisman or sigil. So it's kind of like in math when we teach it. Rectangles, sweres, banana swears, rectangles, talismans are usually created by enchanting or blessing that object, but sigils are hand-drawn.

So it's sort of blending the two together. Tapping that you don't plan to destroy may be essentially useful for transforming yourself and then putting your body as a reminder of that intent to keep it more permanent. To put it on your body differs from the common use of sigils for purpose of massation a bit, and then destroy that sigils. So it's putting on your body forever.

But some spiritual traditions believe that tattoos can affect a person's energy field or spiritual being. Concerns may include unintentionally inviting negative energies or misusing sacred symbols. It's important to research and respect culture and spiritual significance of tattoo designs to avoid potential spiritual risks. So they go hand in hand, they're saying like you can, but you have to be very mindful and careful because you think about all the different like Buddhist beliefs and this.

You could just say, oh, look at my tattoo, it's Asian, you know what I mean? So it's the intent behind it. Yeah, I saw a meme not too long ago that said I wonder if people in Asian countries just put random Western letters on their arm because it looks cool, like we do. You'll see someone with water.

Yeah, water. Yeah, I've seen shirts. Yeah, I've seen shirts where it's like cactus, some weird and just not a shirt and they think it is a cool thing and it's random English words, but we probably do this in Japanese and when I absolutely one time I looked up my bathroom downstairs at one time was kind of Asian themed and I actually had words like I just picked all these calming words like water, peace, calm. I think I picked about four and I had letters made and I just had them all over my bathroom on my name level.

I have no idea which one was which I just put them up. So yeah, see we do it too. Which word do you use Google translate it on your phone? Translate it to the word again.

Oh, yeah, that one's water. I mean, they were like bathroom, peaceful words, but if you were to say which word does this I'd be like, yeah, I don't know. But you do research. That's what's important and you have attention there and that's exactly what is it back.

I'm throwing your question. Right. Answering your question. It definitely is a lot to do with intention.

Absolutely. I should have had the words kids. Please flush the toilet. But in like Japanese or Chinese or something.

Please. Or the water. Right. Can you tell us one?

I wear a Jade necklace that I got for my grandma. Well, she passed away and I inherited it, I guess. But yeah, I wear it for good luck and I know what it says. It says good luck.

Very good. Yeah, it says good luck. So I wear that. I know a lot of us will wear like crystals around our necks or things like that.

Yeah. I think count as that for protection or for green luck or wealth or repelling negative things. Right. So how about you?

I think you is St. Patrick's Day. I'm all about the Forlef Clover. But also people are painting that since I was born on the day, I am a love talisman.

They're like, oh, come over here. Whenever I go with my friends and we do scratch offs, they always make me pick theirs because I usually get the one with the money. It's a little bit of luck. I touch everywhere.

I'm just like it in my pocket, Velma. Almost like your Vegas. I'm a good guy. I got a green cat.

So I guess that's true. Yeah, absolutely. You don't have to have that too as well. Oh yeah.

I'm covered on time. I'm not sure. I'm not sure. I'm not sure.

I'm covered on time. I'm not sure. I'm covered on time. You have something special.

You have James Hetfield from metallic and he's pretty cool. Probably revs names, probably my only significant tattoo. Says four and then rev. Oh, so cute.

Sorry, I keep talking over people. Some of my apologies there, Chad. Oh yeah, I got my dad's car. I'm gonna make it to you guys.

Oh my gosh. We're having problems up here. He's doing it on purpose. I've been doing it through my whole life.

Wait, okay. You tried it. Okay. Now, just as good as we've just lost all our listeners.

Have you up? I'm up. Yes. Any talismans?

Not really that I think of. I do have some things that I like to keep with me all the time. I don't think I'm really as talismans. They're a little more of everyday carry kind of things.

Pocket knife and a big lighter and some tapes and things like that, but I can't think of a talisman kind of thing that I have. Do you have a logic point in your wallet? No, I don't. I'm trying to think of some things I've had in the past because I am kind of sentimental about things like that, but currently I'm not really carrying anything like that.

So I have one and a half things. Does that count? One and a half. That's probably it.

So when my daughters, so I'll tell you the one first, my daughters and I went to Hawaii this summer, this last summer, and my youngest saw a Jade bracelet and a lady that was selling them and told her a story about them and the lady was Native Hawaiian and she talked about these Jade bracelets and how they would protect you from things and I said they'd break easily because I would think it would break easily. She said no. She said if it does happen to break, that means it's protected you from something. And so my daughter's like oh we've got to get all three of us need to get one.

And you put them on in the idea as you wear them forever. You don't take it off unless it breaks. And so we were walking around trying to find some. We found a little shop and they wanted like hundreds of dollars for them.

I'm like I'm not going to pay hundreds of dollars for these. And then there was like this little, I call it a suit because it looks like a Middle Eastern suit, but just like a little flea market kind of a place. This kind of in a little, and it's in a little tiny place and it's just amazing. You can get lost if you're not careful.

And the deeper into this little market we went, the cheaper they got. We actually found them for about $10 and they might not be real Jade. I don't know. I think they are, but probably just a lower quality or I don't know.

And yeah, so the three of us all have one. And then the half of them might. I'm pry them on their hands like you get really good on there. It's like a whole process.

Oh yeah, they showed us how you can put your hand in a plastic bag to make it slicker. So it just slipped right on. And then the half of one I had a son that went to Japan just for school trips with your Japanese class probably about eight years ago or so, six, seven, eight years ago. And he brought me back because he knew that I was kind of into this because when I go to something I'll take certain stones or where certain things to just do an added layer of protection.

And he brought me this little emblem that was blessed by a Japanese priest. The only thing is he said that only last like a Shinto, what that's the word I want, the Shinto priest, but it only lasted a year. And after the year you'd have to get it re-blessed. So I have it, but I need to, it's talisman power has expired.

I need to get it re-blessed. Make it full. Yeah, but I don't readily know any Shinto priests in Utah. So I might have to look that up or go to Japan one of the two.

I'm not going to eat somewhere. I think you just put it on your shin and then your toe and then you got the shin. It's going to be a long night. I'm glad you hear about man.

Hey, it's working on my abs. It's great. A little bit of podcasting, a little bit of ab workout. So talisman to me has always seemed kind of mystical.

Unlike anything, I think, well I know that several people have said this before, but I think it's all about intent. So I, and someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I would think if you're somewhere, you hear about a lot of people in the United States that would talk about a lucky penny, a lucky penny because they're a lucky one, whether lucky watcher, I don't know that we call things. I don't think we use the word talisman as often as we say you're lucky. You'll think of sports people that will wear the same shirt every game because they think it's lucky, you know, they're lucky jersey or they're lucky underwear or whatever it is like you saw it.

Bingo troll. Yeah. I mean, I forgot to wear certain pair of earrings to a certain football game and the team I wanted to win did not and it's because they didn't wear my earrings. It's a shame.

More of a thing than we realize. Well, I agree with the intent part of it because you think about cursed objects and things and a lot of those get cursed from ill intent and a horrific thing sometimes. Oh, absolutely. So I think really anything could be a talisman depending on what kind of intent you have.

So I think talisman in general are just very, very interesting. So I'm so excited for Whiskey to feel better so that he can come and tell us about his laboratory because he's got some exciting stuff going on. But we will let him tell about that. In the meantime, if you get a chance to go check out the Mystic Frog you need to, I have not been there since the last time we investigated there that makes me feel bad, especially since it's right across the street from my daughter's house, almost literally.

So I need to go check it out. I went there the first time ever when I was visiting over Christmas break. What did you get? Oh, I saw an area where I was like, I think local crafters.

They have stuff in there from local crafters. So definitely a support small business and double support small business because people in the area put their hand-made stuff in there. I got this belt that I used to the Renferena. It has these acrylic, like little charms all around it that have a wand, a dragon.

So it's really cool. I was all about it. I'm gonna wear it to the renaissance there. Yeah, it looked so cool.

So you bought a talisman just when you're telling me. Yeah, basically. I'll put some good intentions on it. There you go.

Only good intentions, no bad intentions. Never. Okay, so we will just jump right to my junk drawer. So this is sponsored by the Jewish Performing Arts and Cultural Events Center, or PACE.

So go check them out. Again, when you have time, they've got a lot of fun things going on there. So our junk drawer is, you know, if you are into the paranormal at all, you know that burning sage is a thing. We'll do a residential all the time or just talk to people that say, oh, I burn sage.

And that's a great way to cleanse your home, especially if you do it properly. And I properly, if you don't, you're just basically chasing the spirit around, but that's a whole nother, a whole nother on cast. But when to burn sage, I'm gonna talk about a little bit about the right way to do it, because I don't want to tell you when to burn it and then have you go the right way and then stop. Let's talk about the right way first.

So basically, you want to put salt in every window, every door except one, because you need an exit point. The idea behind salt is negative entities can't cross up your substance and salt is a pure substance. And so you want to, all your doors, all your windows, all your drains, so sinks, bathubs, showers, toilet, just sprinkle the tini's a little bit. And if you sprinkle salt down the toilet and then someone goes in five minutes later and uses it and flushes it, you don't need to re-salt it.

Again, it's about intent. And then you're gonna start in the very far back room, sage to the room, salt the door. And keep doing that, just think of pushing everything from the back, pushing everything out to your opening. Once you've got that opening and everything pushed out, you salt the final opening.

And I've had people say, well, my house is very open concept. Chad and I did a residential, it's been a couple years ago, where we walked in and you could see every room, because it was like a two-story apartment. But the way it was, you could see all the doors to the upstairs. And what you have to do in that case is just use the salt to create walls where you need them.

And if you have questions, you wanna do this and you don't quite understand what I'm talking about, which is not unusual. Just send us an email, let us know. But when's a burn sage? When you've been arguing with someone, you've had a fight with your spouse or kids or parents.

You've got that kind of negative heavy energy cleanse. If someone in your home has been sick or is sick, when visitors leave, if for some reason their energy felt heavy, if they were fine, then don't worry about it. If you buy a second-hand item, it's not a bad idea to sage the house just in case something's come in. If the vibe just overall feels icky, if you've been depressed, regardless of the reason, you've been having a bad day, because that can draw in some negative.

And kind of tied to that if you're grieving a loss, if you're just really, really sad. During a full moon, when anxiety strikes, when you've had a nightmare, while doing chores, and I think that's just cause it kind of gives you a good mindset. Before you do any sort of meditation or if you're doing spells, that's a good time to do some sage. If you have crystals, stones that you use, or any spiritual tools, it's a good cleanser, so you can burn sage to clear those.

And when you move into a new home, can you guys think of any other time she might want to burn sage? I just want to know why doing it on a full moon. Is it just about the renewal and refreshing? I believe so.

It's a list. I have a list. And I just happen to run across this, and it doesn't really explain it. Well, usually it's like a new moon because it's a new refreshing, so it's kind of interesting new moon versus full moon.

Yeah, well, in the studies I've done, it sounds like that's why you would do it during that time. Well, I know that you can cleanse your stones by putting them out under either sunlight or under the light of a full moon, so I wonder if just in conjunction with a full moon cleanser, you add some sage to it, and it's just like a double dose of goodness and cleansing. That would be my guess. I like it.

I was talking to a friend recently about it, and we were saying she had her two dots, one passed away right after the other, and it was like random. And so someone said, here, have this sage, and sage out your house and all that. And she was, I never really did it. I have it, so nice.

She said, did I have it? I was kind of talking, well, if you sage your house, it clears out anything, including the good stuff, potentially, from what we have talked about before, I believe. And so I said, you have to really consider, we talked to people whose house we've been to and said, like, just so you know, if you clear out with this, you're clearing it all out, do you want it all out? So, but that's like energy, so I don't know.

Yeah, usually from my experience, it will cleanse everything out, but if there's a spirit that they want, the spirit that they want can have permission to come back, but the homeowner has to give it the permission. Hmm, okay. What about like my entire time? I'm probably following the intent thing as well.

Oh, absolutely. That meant I agree. What did you ask, Grandma? What about like positive vibes?

Like, you clear it out? Is it like, is it make everything neutral? You know what I mean? There's a lot of after fakes and stuff.

My understanding is the sage just clears that negative. So, it's kind of like a weird event that happened to me yesterday at home. And maybe this is one of those times that you could use sage for any type of historical event, because it seemed like the energy yesterday was just really different with everything. And I would hear random noises throughout my house that weren't normal.

I heard a knock at my door and I was there. And so I don't know if that type of energy can stir up spirits and like historical events, but maybe that's a good time to stage your house as well. Oh yeah, yeah, you should. Is it your house still feeling weird now?

No, it was just yesterday. Like I said, the energy just felt different. And you know, the inauguration was yesterday. So whether it's a good thing or a bad thing for people, I can, I'm sure, stir up a bunch of energy and whether it could be positive or negative.

It didn't feel anything like I was anything malicious was being done, but it just like the random tappings or the knocks and things that weren't normal on just a Monday for me kind of thing. I would think that, like you said, despite which side of politics you sit on, it's still a historical event, you know, the inauguration of the president for the new, you know, a new term starting. Yeah, I think that could because you're going to have a lot of, I mean, think about it. The United States has on average, you know, 330 million people and you're going to have roughly, at least this election, you're going to have roughly 49% very upset people and 51% very happy people.

So, yeah, I can definitely stir up some energy. So you're going to have a lot of really good energy and a lot of really negative energy. So yeah, absolutely. I think that could be a thing.

Okay, so we had an investigation and I was kind of hoping Whiskey could be here because he was there, but Batman, I think had probably the most interesting aspect to this investigation. So I'm going to give it to the little intro and then I'm going to let Moon and Batman talk about it because this is really cool. So Elma, how to be there too? She would count the Christmas.

Actually, I would say I was the start of some of the weird stuff that led into the other. So I would actually like to start after you introduce. Oh, yes, perfect. So basically, you've heard us talk about Whiskey Scrambles House.

Both of his grandparents have passed away and they are prepping the house to sell, but until it's already and gets sold, we go over there because there's some crazy, crazy energy and crazy activity. But we had something happen. The last time we did this that I have never been that before when it was cool. So, Elma, take it away.

Okay, so Whiskey has like, I don't know, I guess I would consider a new device situation where he wanted to be able to plug in, headphones to like multiple stream channels of like a spirit box. And so you can kind of hear it out without plugs and then you can also have a separate one where you're listening with your ears and the headphones. And we were doing Estes Method. And you could hear it on the out part and in my headphones, it was like, bang, bang.

You remember that? And it was so loud and it sounded like, we were like, oh, sounds like gunshots. It's so weird. And I would never heard that before.

Never. Never. It was really weird. And I actually had to take the headphones like and slightly take them off everyone so I was so loud.

Two different spirits into the future. Take it away. Yeah, so definitely the night started off with us kind of hearing gunshots through the spirit box. And that's not anything we've ever gotten before.

So we think, oh, it might be a equipment malfunction. Reset it, try it again. And then again pop pop really loud and it's like, what are these gunshots that we're hearing? Yeah, and I'd say we heard it like what?

We'd hear a couple every half hour or so. Yeah. Yeah. And it'd be like spurts of like four or five.

Yeah, it was kind of wild. And then just out of chance, most of the night we have our phones in airplane mode so we're not disrupting equipment or getting false readings on things. But wonder was feeling like, oh, I should look at my phone, make sure nobody's trying to get a hold of me, like, grab her anything who's sleeping over at his cousins. She gets on her phone and then is like, whoa, there's cops outside of our house.

And I'm like, what? That turned on my phone. And I immediately get flooded with messages. It's like, are you guys okay?

What's going on? Or do you need anything? Why are there cops everywhere? I'm just like, I don't know, I'm not home.

And we just go out throughout the night trying to figure out what's going on. And then we finally get told that, hey, there's been a shooting in your yard. And apparently there was a 17 year old boy who had stolen a car, went ran into my driveway, hid inside of my Mazda. And when the cop dog found him, he decided he was going to hop my back fence and run away from him.

And as he's running away, he shot one shot towards the cops and then they fired back at him. Luckily he wasn't killed in my yard, but he made it a few houses down before there was a second shoot out and where he was unfortunately sadly killed. And so then it was just as we're reminiscing about the night, like, oh, weren't we hearing gunshots earlier and all this stuff's coming up? And it was weird because it felt like something was just giving us enough for us to want to stay there, but not like full on giving us the kind of evidence that would keep us at a location.

So it was just kind of like an up to here, stay here. And it was kind of a good thing because if we would have left when we intended to leave, I probably would have been getting home about the time that was all going down. And then after that, it's also I wasn't able to return home till almost 3am. So it was kind of just a wild night.

And the fact that it fell on Friday, which I'm usually never able to do those, but I was able to do it this time, that ensured that my son wasn't home and ensured me and Bree wasn't home during this because I know if I would have heard yelling in my yard, I would have ran outside probably with my own fire. So I'm glad that I didn't do that and accidentally get hurt in the crossfire or caused fire just because running out, not knowing what's going on. Yeah. And that's to me, this is up there in my top five coolest things.

I'm not that what happened was cool because for someone to lose their life, or some bad decisions, that's not cool. But as far as the paranormal activity and hearing those gunshots, because I remember the first one was when we very first turned it on, I don't think it was on for more than five minutes. And I don't remember who, but someone says that sounds like a gunshot. And I was like, yeah, that's really weird because I've never heard ever anything that sounds like a gunshot through there.

You'll hear little bleeps and bits of words and from radio stations, you'll hear little bits of music, you'll hear some static, but I've never heard anything like that. And it was constant for, I'm chatting that left early because we needed to become home. We had kids at home. We didn't want to leave them too late, but I think we were there for four hours, I think.

It was just consistent all night. Yeah. And yeah, like I was saying, it wasn't anything to be like, ooh, that's great evidence, but it was enough to keep us active there and wanting to stick around. But it wasn't like anything like we've gotten in the past that's kept us there.

It was just like, oh, come here, come here. And it just kind of kept us there and kept us wanting to stay and try to get something better. And I think that may have been like the difference in me being home for that or not. So I think that was really cool too.

It was crazy. You got it all in your ring camera too. Yeah. And then you couldn't go home for like hours because of your driveway was a crime scene.

And so yeah, the 3am thing, I had to go back to my finished packing. I got two hours of sleep and I had to fight for Wednesday. And that resulted into just a tumbling of exhaustion and why I wasn't here the last thing. But yeah, the video was crazy.

Yeah, the funny thing was too, is they found Moon's kids license in my backyard because he comes over and pooper scoops for me. That was kind of funny if she got woken up early early. We got home so late. And then the cops are pounding my door at 645.

Oh my gosh. World happening. I didn't know that. That's the core.

And at the time we had no idea how young this person was that got shot and my kids just a year younger than this person. So they were just probably trying to see if they were related or tied or if it was just some weird flute. But that was a crazy night hearing those gunshots and things that we'd never heard. We did have a little bit more evidence in certain areas.

But I do really feel that a purpose of us being where there was because I was distracted all night. And usually can be on task. I joke around a lot and I make sure I have fun while I'm going hunting. That's just how I am.

But I was so distracted and we were waiting for pizza. Like it came an hour late and then they got our order on. So it took like over another hour for the right pizza to come. And I was just like hungry.

And so I was focused on like when is dinner coming? Like it just wasn't a typical investigation when we all get together and investigate. And especially Whiskey's grandma's house. It's just such an active cool place that we're normally just on top of it and like wanting to actively be hunting.

But I was just so distracted and I think that was the whole purpose of us really being there was to get Batman out of the house. So other activity we had. Batman, you and Mel were up in what at one point was a craft room kind of a small bedroom. Yeah.

And we were in there and we had some stuff. We had the cat balls out and we had some K2 meters out. And I set up my grid. And as soon as I set up my grid, Batman and I at the same time, and I can't remember from Mel's thought, but I know you and I at the same time we saw a figure just dart out of the room.

Yeah. So you and I thought she was looking out the window. But yeah, it almost like it blacked out where her grid was where you could see the shadow. It looked like somebody moving across.

It was pretty intense. Yeah. And then it just kind of crouched outside the doorways. Like it didn't want to be in the room with us, but it wanted to kind of see what we were doing.

And I don't know that it interacted with us, but it just covered there for the longest. Yeah. And it made the outside feel darker than it really was and stuff. Like there were lights downstairs, but there was just this one spot where we when we saw it leave that was just staying really super dark and just kind of ominous.

Yeah, the shadow people were we talked about this on the last episode where they're darker than the dark. So that was kind of cool. Moon, Belma, did you have any other things happen besides the gunshot? I know that you got a scratch downstairs on your lower back that I took a picture of.

Yeah, that is just kind of burned and got a picture. And I know Moon, you have that box that sings Ghostbusters. It's kind of like a cakey bit. Yes.

That kept going off. Yeah, I have a motion sensor that plays Ghostbusters and nobody was over where it was. And you can only be like, I don't know, four to five feet in front of it. And if you walk, then it'll play the song.

And so we got that going a couple times, which is always exciting. Yeah. When I was down there, I think I heard it go out four or five times. It did it a lot.

Wow. Yeah. I don't think the thing's ever gone off before either, too. It goes off for me, but maybe you haven't heard it before, but it does go off occasionally.

It's not something. It was this was something that me and another teammate made like we got down and tried to pull a whiskey and made this. So there's definitely nothing that was pre-programmed. It kind of fell apart.

I was like, whiskey, please help me. And he ended up fixing it and it definitely works better than it used to. And so I know it's like a legit piece of equipment. Filming, how about you?

Not really. I feel like the vibe was just different than it used to be. It used to be just like, you felt this darkness. And then like, because the last time we were there, we had those temperature sensors mixed with the lights on the floor.

And we literally see a flow of them getting set off as if it was walking across. There was just so much. It was more so focused on the waiting and the other situations going down. I didn't feel like we could fully focus on noticing about just stuff.

So yeah, I feel like it was more centered around the other weird situations. And I didn't get to experience as much, but I agree. I haven't gone over every time Will's gone over there to investigate, but it seems like the other times there's been more activity this time it seemed more centered around the gunshots, which I think. Well, all the all the further and stuff was taken out and so we're just kind of wondering if some of that really dark energy was tied towards some of the stuff that was in the house.

It was just very empty in there. So maybe it just the vibes were kind of in typical anyway. So I'm kind of curious if we were to go back and see if the vibes were different this time again. I don't know.

It's possible. I mean, I have gone to the family tree where you walk in and it's just been dead. No pun intended work. Just the activities.

Nothing. And you think, am I in the right building? Did I wander into a different building? And then I've been there when people have left the building screaming.

And it may have just been quite anight. It may be because the dark stuff was attached to the furniture. I would love to go back again before they sell it and see. We were kind of wondering if some of that like, whatever it was that was keeping us there and that positive protectiveness, maybe that was holding the other darker things at bay at that time?

Yeah, that could absolutely be something. You never know what goes to it. We always tell people, it's like fishing. You're either going to be pulling fish out of the water right and left or you're going to be drowning worms.

It just kind of depends. So I had one more interesting experience, but it wasn't really paranormal. So when we went down to the basement, I took my shoes off and just was going around in my talking feet. Is that what that smell was?

Yeah. That's what that smell was. I have got five boys. I can roll a stinky-tee-chook.

So I went upstairs. Oh, no, no, before, before. I actually had two experiences. So we at the end of the night, well, end of my night there because we left a little early.

We were downstairs kind of in what I call a breakfast nook. And just kind of sitting there, we had equipment out and the cat ball behind us had gone off a few times and we were getting a couple of things through Dowlie and Rod's. And we heard someone walking above us. And I remember thinking, oh, look at my watch thinking, I don't want to go, but probably should go.

And so I ran upstairs to get something and I thought that it was Chad that had gone to the restroom because I'm not totally familiar with the layout of the house, but I thought, oh, I think where he's sitting was over here. I think the bathroom was over here, so that was probably him. And he would have been the only one upstairs. The rest of us were downstairs.

And so I went up to grab the thing before we left and he was sitting in the chair where I thought he was. And I said, did you just walk over here? Did you just do the bathroom? He's like, no, I've been sitting here for quite some time.

So we heard some footsteps above us that we couldn't explain. And it was very clear because I think even Whiskey was like, yeah, that's probably gone walking around. So I went back downstairs, went upstairs again to go and I was like, oh, forgot my shoes. So I went down, slipped my shoes on and we went home to get home, go on my bedroom.

I'm getting ready for bed, take my shoes off there is the biggest squished spider in my shoe that I've ever seen. So I just put my foot, just mashed it down on a spider. There's still spider guts in my shoe. You can still see what it looks like.

And it's a huge spider. And so then I had this mental thing for days and every time I wore those shoes right where the spider was my foot hurt. And that's totally, I didn't get bit. I told my head, but I'm not a shoe on.

I'm glad I didn't experience that because I definitely was laying on the floor. It could have crawled on me. Gross. Yeah, may have.

Yeah. I'm coming on investigations anymore. Nope, we're good. Well, another kind of crazy thing about that night too.

Sorry. I keep rambling about it. But Kat was, and Whiskey can back her up on this, but I guess a few weeks before Kat was having dreams of shooting and wasn't able to pinpoint it to anything. But like she had sort of, I don't know if it's like a premonition or just a dream, but yeah, she was kind of freaked out by it too, just because it was almost like when she saw the video almost like watching her dream again.

So that was kind of wild. Yeah. Wow. Definitely your spirit guides or whatever people think of the protective spirits or angels were definitely watch over you guys that night.

Yeah, all the timing of just everything was crazy that night. Yeah, it was fun though. So at least the part of the house. It worked.

Yeah. Once you got home, maybe not so much fun. Yeah, that was a good investigation. We had a definitely new experience.

I just want to talk to my friends here about how's your New Year's and resolutions coming along? I am hoping excellent. If not, that's okay. I do know a wise woman that can get you back on track to smash her goals.

She's Laura Dong and you can get more info at newdonhypnotharpy.com. Okay, guys, you know what time it is. Time. What time is it?

So today I want to talk about the moon in ancient Greece. Anyone know? Yes, I have a question for you guys. Anyone know the goddess associated with the moon?

I do. I do. Tell me. It's Diana because I'm named after her.

Thank you very much. I wonder if that's Roman because in ancient Greece, it's Artemis. I don't know. Yeah, that's true.

But yeah. Anyways, but that's so awesome. You got it right because I, yeah, they're the same person, right? I just have different names.

She's also known as the goddess of the hunt and childbirth. And when the moon is full, it was believed that Artemis or Diana would come down Mount Olympus to bless pregnant women or women that were having fertility issues and people made offerings to her on the night of a full moon hoping to receive her blessings. So shout out to Artemis for being in the moon goddess. I'm just looking it up and I've heard Artemis before because when I was a teenager, I was just completely enthralled with mythology.

I preferred Greek, but I also read a lot of Roman and I just was looking up while you're reading that and there's even different names that it's pulling up here. Oh, okay. So when you first just Google it says, Celine is the Greek goddess of the moon and I have never heard that name before. And the Romans call her Luna, which also I've heard of Luna meaning the moon, but I've never heard of that before either.

So if you read down more, Artemis was actually what they would refer to as the goddess of the moon and see. Yeah, she wasn't the moon itself. She was the goddess that. Yeah.

Yeah, of the moon. But Celine is regarded as a personification of the moon and so it's a here we go with the Roman and it's Luna, but then Diana would have been the goddess of the moon or Luna with personification of the moon. So we're all right. Awesome.

I love it. Yeah, that takes me back to high school learning about all of that in 10th grade. Watching all the books. Oh, don't make me tell on you.
