Talkin' Thrones Episode 15 - The Ghost of Harrenhal

from Talkin' TV

On tonight's episode of Talkin' Thrones, we discuss this gangbusters, action packed midpoint of Season 2, entitled The Ghost of Harrenhal. After Pat makes a reference to the 1990 film "Ghost" starring Patrick Swayze (not Kurt Russell) & Demi Moore, they dive head first into the episode, which covers a lot. Renly is promptly murdered by Melisandre's shadow assassin, forcing Catelyn & Brienne to go on the run, and allowing Stannis to commandeer all of Renly's forces and set his sights on King's Landing. Tyrion is forced into a corner and discovers a large cache of wildfire underneath the city, and plans to use it against Stannis. The secondary storylines begin to converge as well, with Theon launching his plan to conquer Winterfell, with Bran's youth and inexperience not allowing him to see the attack coming, although his dreams are dropping hints. Jon meets some more Night's Watch members north of the wall and joins a raiding party to take out some wildlings before they have a chance to attack the wall. Daenerys is within civilization again in Quarth, but learns quickly that it's not all smiles and warmth with this crowd, as everything comes with a price. Finally, Arya, now in an unexpectedly precious position as Tywin Lannister's new cup bearer, learns she has an ally in Faceless Man Jaquen H'ghar, who offers to kill any three people for her in exchange for her saving his and his companions' lives. So who does she have him kill? That guy who was torturing everybody. It' confusing to say the least.
