This is okay, as long as it doesn't lead to disappointment as that can cause a chain of events that can end disastrously. Most of us, especially in recovery, can tell right away if someone's real or if they're putting on an act. Acknowledging that they're on their own journey and not letting it affect you and your journeys paramount.
