Talking Haunted Virginia City (Live)

The old silver mining town of Virginia City, Nevada, is said to be amongst the most haunted locales in the country, but why? As part of Talking Strange's special Spooky Season coverage, Aaron Sagers teamed with the Reno-Tahoe Territory to explore the unexplained phenomena of VC. Recording this episode live from the allegedly haunted St. Mary's Art Center in Virginia City, Aaron speaks with Paula Burris of WIGS (Women Investigating Ghost Sightings) and the resident paranormal investigator at St. Mary’s Art Center (a hospital that ran from 1873 until the 1940s, which now serves as a gallery, event space and artist retreat). ALSO joining Aaron is acclaimed author Janice Oberding, known for her expertise of hauntings in Reno, Tahoe, Carson City, and Virginia City. And Debbie Bender of Bats in the Belfry haunted walking tour. Together, they discuss the unique paranormal personality of Virginia City, the tales of hauntings at the Washoe Club, Silver Queen Hotel, Territorial Enterprise newspaper offices (where Samuel Clemens became Mark Twain) and St. Mary's Art Center's reputation of ghostly children, and shadow people said to roam the halls.
