Tallinn: Self-Guided Audio Walk Through Old Town Heights

Full Version: Tallinn: Self-Guided Audio Walk Through Old Town Heights This self-guided audio walk explores medieval Tallinn through its market square, churches, hilltop viewpoints, and stone lanes. It is ideal for first-time visitors who want a clear introduction to the Old Town, and for travelers who enjoy history they can see all around them in towers, walls, and merchant houses. Your route begins at the Christmas market on Raekoja plats, the heart of the lower town, where the square has hosted trade and public life since the 15th century. From there, you continue to the Old Town Pharmacy area and the Holy Spirit Church, then climb toward Toompea to visit St Mary's Cathedral and the domes of Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. The walk carries you onward to Patkuli Viewing Platform and Kohtuotsa viewing platform for wide views over red-tiled roofs, before passing through Vanalinn and the Danish King's Garden. The tour ends at St Olaf's Church, known for its tall spire and long maritime history. Along the way, you will stand in one of Europe's best-preserved medieval centers, look up at a 13th-century church clock, step into the setting of the Danish flag legend, and take in sweeping views of towers, city walls, and the Gulf beyond. Expect cobbled streets, bells overhead, and some of Tallinn's most memorable skyline views.
