At first, the news was good. Niv and Nirel were okay and waiting for the IDF to come and save them. But as the hours passed and there was no help in sight, Tami's efforts to connect with Niv became dire. Tami had no idea this conversation with her precious daughter would be her last. It was an entire week before Niv and Nirel's fates were confirmed. This beautiful, young couple who were set to be engaged just days later, breathed their last breaths together before Hamas terrorists brutally murdered them.Imagine being Niv's mother. Imagine praying that your child was taken brutal hostage, as at least she would be alive. Can you imagine? It is impossible to fathom what Tami has had to experience and endure on October 7th and every day since. Even harder to fathom is her superhuman resilience that inspired her to transform this tragedy into a miracle. With nothing but a vision and sheer determination, Tami decided to create the Niv Nirel Center to treat IDF soldiers with combat-related trauma, free of cost and free of stigma. To date, the Niv Nirel Center has treated 250 patients and expects to reach 1000 by 2028. In this LIVE conversation, Shana Meyerson of YOGAthletica sits down with Tami Raviv & Doron Krakow of the Niv Nirel Center to discuss Tami's experiences as a mother and a healer and how she and Doron have teamed up to save the lives of IDF soldiers beyond the front. If you are a yogi or yogini who thinks that a war ends with a ceasefire, you owe it to yourself to listen to this discussion about inner strength, sheer resilience, overcoming trauma, and healing the world.NIV NIREL CENTER: https://www.nivnirelcenter.org/enNIV NIREL ON INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/nivnirelcenterTami Raviv iand her husband, Yoel, are the proud parents of 3 children. Their daughter, Niv was brutally murdered together with her long-time boyfriend, Nirel, on the morning of October 7 on Kibbutz Kfar Aza - at the age of 27. In the period since, she somehow managed to channel her grief and despair into the creation of a desperately needed trauma center - named in memory of Niv and Nirel - to help Israel contend with the sudden and overwhelming growth in the number of people suffering from combat-related trauma disorders and PTSD.Doron Krakow's career has been spent in leadership roles in the Jewish world. He led the Young Judaea Youth Movement, served as Senior Vice President - Israel & Overseas for JFNA, headed American Associates, Ben-Gurion University and, more recently, until the spring of 2024 he was CEO of JCC Association of North America. In June of 2024, he and his wife, Janet, made Aliyah and now live in Tel Aviv. He is a very proud member of the Board of the Niv Nirel Center.🪂 🤸 ALSO BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE "A PARATROOPER AND A YOGI WALK INTO A BAR..."
