Known to many fans for her work as a referee, a FIFA analyst and a media personality, Unkel also became the President of the Tampa Bay area’s new D1 women’s soccer club last year and the side played its first competitive matches this month. James and Kartik speak to Christina about the challenges of launching a new D1 club, the importance of integrating opportunities for youth immediately, how to successfully market a new club and larger, macro issues in both women’s game and football as a whole globally.
