Tanner Bibee’s Tough Season | Cleveland Guardians News

Tanner Bibee’s rough season isn’t just about wins and losses—it’s about resilience. With a 4-13 record and a solid 4.01 ERA, he’s been stuck in a frustrating cycle: his team’s offense has barely supported him, scoring just 51 runs in his 26 starts—the worst in the league for pitchers with 130+ innings. He set a franchise record by going 13 straight starts without a win until June 6th, when he finally got his first victory—a shutout. Yet, he’s still racked up 15 quality starts, third-most in the AL. Rain delays, rookie errors, and bad luck haven’t broken him—he’s even comforted teammates after mistakes. Bibee admits he hates losing more than winning, but he’s learned to focus on what he can control: pitching well, staying grounded, and not letting team results define his value. With a few starts left, there’s still hope—because sometimes, doing your best isn’t enough, but it’s never wasted.
