Tanzania's ruling party candidate John Magufuli has been declared winner of the Presidential elections, after garnering 8 point 8 million votes against his main opponent Dr. Edward Lowassa who managed only 6 million votes. Magufuli with 58 percent of the total votes cast will now become Tanzania's 5th President succeeding Jakaya Kikwete who retires after ten years in office.
