In the year 2005, when asked, "Are you proud to be an American?", 90% of Republicans said yes, and so did 85% of Democrats. Fast forward to today when the same exact question is asked by Gallup. Not much has changed for Republicans—89% say, "Yeah, of course, I’m proud to be an American." Just 29% of Democrats say the same thing. In the meantime, all the way back in 2011, a majority of Democrats still said they had a positive impression of capitalism; just 42% said they had a positive impression of socialism. Now it’s 63%. So they keep screaming and yelling and saying something’s changed, "Donald Trump’s a dictator, that’s why we have to be violent." That’s why Antifa is now stalking and death-threatening the judges who put their last crew away—that just happened this week—threatening to kill them. See, "You guys have changed," Democrats say, "So we have to get violent, we have no choice." But we haven’t changed. Those numbers say that. We’re pretty much who we were back in 2001. But they are very different. In fact, unrecognizable. And now—and folks, this is the part that boggles my mind, I mean, I’m sitting in this chair every day—I mean, a year ago, Zohran Mamdani was hands-off by the Democrat leadership. He was some weird commie. Nobody wanted to endorse him, they were afraid to even acknowledge him. Now? Kamala Harris has gone to him seeking his endorsement for her presidential run. Fox News describes him as a kingmaker. He’s well on his way to pushing out the Democrat leadership that runs in New York City—think Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, who by the way are the leader—the leaders of the Democrat Party in the House and the Senate. In one year, folks, it’s going so fast. And yet... and yet, they act so casually. "It's a big tent. We should let everybody into—" like we should hear the idea, the highly valuable ideas of these communists and socialists and nice Nazis. See, Grant Platner in Maine is—he’s not a Nazi, he’s a nice Nazi. So it’s okay. He’s not a mean Nazi like Trump. And CNN wonders, "Look, wait, what’s the big deal? Why—why is the GOP—" Man, they look—"We’re just at the socialism phase. I mean, why are they pretending it’s communism? It’s just so unfair. They’re saying untrue things." CNN Host (audio clip): ...talking about this, uh talking about the threat of communism, uh explaining about how uh Democrats are going to try and offer you free stuff and that might sound good for a couple of years— CNN Panelist (audio clip): Do you think it's fear they're skipping straight to communism? CNN Host (audio clip): Communism's much more—if you're just branding, and you know this as a communicator for campaigns, it's much easier to understand. It sounds scarier. Go straight back to the '50s. Love it. Okay. Tara: Basically arguing, "Oh, the GOP’s full of it. I mean, these people are not really communists, these Democratic Socialists of America. They’re—they’re not—it’s just—the GOP’s just lying again." David Jenkins (audio clip): Mean, our goal is liberation. Our goal is communism. Tara: Who’s that? Oh, the Democratic Socialists of America’s leader, David Jenkins. Oddly specific. David Jenkins (audio clip): Mean, our goal is liberation. Our goal is communism. Tara: Huh. Sounds like their goal is communism. I mean, I—I could be misinterpreting that, I—I don’t know. CNN says it’s all wrong, Republicans are lying to you. "We’d never back communists winning in our contests, in our party." CNN Host (audio clip): And I just wonder why you can't just critique socialism as is, and you have to go straight to communism.
