Tara Pyfrom: Surviving the Unimaginable

Tara, her wife, their child, and their five dogs faced the terrifying winds of up to 185 mph, with homes being torn apart around them. They had to swim for their lives as the ocean-water rose rapidly, and at one point, they were left with just a couple of inches of space in their house before it was completely submerged. Tara and her family crafted a makeshift raft to hold onto for safety as the winds howled around them, all while facing the terrifying sound of debris crashing nearby. With no power, they were stuck in the pitch black for over 24 hours, all while managing the emotional toll of keeping their child and pets calm amidst the storm's fury. We also discuss the critical importance of mental health and the reality of climate change, reminding everyone that preparation is key. You never think it could happen to you until it does.
