The earliest tarot decks contained a lot of planetary and cosmic references—The Sun, The Moon, and The Star cards are some of the clearest examples.Over time, mystics and philosophers began to notice deeper symbolic parallels, assigning astrological equivalents to each card, especially the major arcana.One of the most widely used systems for this comes from the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, which matched each of the 22 major arcana cards with planets or zodiac signs. These connections add powerful layers of meaning to tarot readings used to explore your astrological birth chart.In this episode, I referenced the book Tarot and Astrology: Enhance Your Readings with the Wisdom of the Zodiac by Corrine Kenner, which offers a really thoughtful breakdown of these associations. It’s a great read if you’re looking for a framework that blends structure with intuition.
