TAS 684: AMAZON HORROR Story from 7 Figure Seller (Private Voicemail Recording)

from Rock Your Brand Podcast · host Scott Voelker

You know that sinking feeling you have when you go to log in to your Amazon account in the morning, and you see that dreaded red flag? It doesn’t have to be that way! More and more - Scott is hearing from ecommerce sellers like you who put way too many of their eggs into the Amazon basket. This isn’t an Amazon bashing episode - it’s a reminder that you need to think beyond Amazon. On this episode, you’ll hear from Scott as he shares a horror story from one of his inner circle members - let it serve as a warning to build external assets for your brand! The HORROR story Imagine you are chugging along minding your own business when Amazon Shipping sends you an email and asks you to participate in a new Beta program. Wow - that sounds great! They offer to send you a printer to print out labels and make the whole process easier - even better! Then the other shoe drops - the printer won’t work with your computers. You reach out to Amazon and plead with them to help correct the problem and avoid delayed shipping on your account - all to no avail. Sounds like a nightmare - right? What would you do in this scenario? The solution Jim’s story is a great example of why sellers like you need to build out external assets like a home base (blog/website), email list, and social media channels! Don’t get caught with all of your eggs in the Amazon basket. Amazon is a great place to launch and grow your business, but you NEVER want to depend on a single channel outside of your direct control. While building out your own assets sounds complicated - it’s really not that difficult. To hear how sellers like you can get started and avoid a situation as Jim faced, make sure to listen to this episode of The Amazing Seller! Check out the P.A.C.E method! If you haven’t already - you need to check out the PACE method that Scott has been developing over the last year. PACE is a formula that sellers like you can use to future-proof your brand. If you’ve already brushed up on PACE - make sure to attend the Brand Accelerator LIVE event in Septemeber to go even further with brand building strategies. If you want what you’ve never had - you’ve got to do what you’ve never done! Don’t get stuck doing the same thing over and over again while expecting a different outcome. Learn a better way from Scott and the TAS team. You can learn more about PACE and the Brand Accelerator LIVE event in the resources section.
