Today Tashika called in to share her story of dealing with fear and postpartum depression and anxiety. Tashika talks about feeling like she was on an emotional rollercoaster. She felt like she had no out and because she had a family that depended on her she felt ashamed for having the emotions that she was feeling. This caused her to feel even worse about herself, like she was not giving enough and she was supposed to be giving more. Tashika talks about getting help, finding a community for support, and her journey of healthy living. She talks about recognizing the feelings and being able to identify how she is feeling as an important step in improving how she handles situations when she is feeling down. She is doing things for herself that makes her feel good like eating healthy, exercising, modeling, becoming a talent agent for others and tapping into outlets that fuel her spirit and soul. Tashika talks about the importance of being more empathetic to ourselves and find the things that we can control in our lives and release the things that we can’t.
