Tasia Fortune Homicide Case Update | Spokane News

A Mississippi medical examiner has ruled the death of 29-year-old Black woman Tasia Fortune as a homicide, sparking national attention and leading to the arrest of Jacques Ratliff. Police Chief RaShall Brackney called it a major step but emphasized the investigation is ongoing, with more arrests possible. While murder charges are expected, officials haven’t confirmed Ratliff’s direct role in her death, only noting he had an “association” with Fortune. The case, discovered in a vacant home’s backyard, carries deep historical weight for the community, and authorities vow to follow every lead.
