Austin writes: My name is Austin and I’ve always had a struggle with addiction throughout my Teenage years and beyond. Sober now this tattoo has more meaning to me than it ever has. I’ve had this tattoo for 8 years and when I first got it done it was a random Tuesday morning and my tattoo artist at the time posted this drawing on his Facebook page and it hit me that I needed it done immediately. This tattoo embodies what pulled me out of so many dark places and for me that was art. Whether it was drawing or painting or even building something artwork and dedication to it has helped me stay alive some days. Now my artwork looks a little different than painting and drawing for me it looks like welding and fabrication, building something from scratch with my bare hands that’s what gives me the drive to keep going every day and stay sober one day at a time.
