Tavern Talk – Magical Beasts and How to Craft Them

Good Morrow, my dear countrymen! Quarion Xiloscient has returned with the new opus he promised you! In today’s Tavern Talk Monologue I go over the first part of Magical Beasts and How to Craft Them and build the framework by which we will venture to build Mythical Creatures in future installments; this includes topics such as: the importance of creating a unique monster with meaningful mechanics, and how the monster and your position as the DM relates to the party and their gameplay experience. It is my hope to cover this topic in at least three parts: this intro; a Campaign Corner where I craft a simple Beastie from common lore; and a second where we are hopefully joined by one of my noble companions (who all I can assure you has never committed any acts of theft, vandalism, or mass murder).
