This evening we discuss three layers of meaning to the bizarre subject of our Parsha, Tzora'at, often mistranslated as leprosy, but actually a physical condition that arises from a spiritual deficiency. Though this topic may seem the most removed from our lives, these three layers of meaning actually make it one of the most important subjects for us now, and every day. Then we analyze how the entire Sefer VaYikra, Book of Leviticus, in one long, multi-part answer to the question, what is holiness? Michael Whitman is the senior rabbi of ADATH Congregation in Hampstead, Quebec, and an adjunct professor at McGill University Faculty of Law.
