Getting Started With SEO Part 1: Barry Moore:  All right. In this week’s episode, we’re going to take a bit of a closer look at search engine optimization or SEO. Joining me is John Romaine of WorksMedia.com.au, an SEO consultancy service in Northern Sydney. He’s a guy who’s got his sleeves rolled up working in SEO everyday. John, how are you? Welcome. John Romaine:  I’m good. Thanks, Barry. That was a fancy intro. I do have the sleeves rolled up, actually. I’m usually up to my armpits in alligators with this stuff. Barry Moore:  I can imagine. Something that changes all the time, I would think? John Romaine:  Absolutely. Yeah. Barry Moore:  How’s things in Northern Sydney these days? John Romaine: The weather is beautiful. It’s warm through the day and then freezing cold at night, but I can’t complain. I’m in a beautiful spot here at Pearl Beach. Barry Moore:  Lovely. John Romaine:  Yeah, about 150 meters from the beach. It’s quite nice. Barry Moore:  Nice. That’s about the same with us, just two streets back from the beach here in the Sunshine Coast. Great. John Romaine:  It’s probably a little bit warmer where you are. Barry Moore:  Yeah. It’s good now I think summer’s on the way. All right. Just for the listeners out there, anybody who’s had a website for any amount of time has probably heard the term SEO or even been regaled with tales of how some Dark Art SEO wizard can press the magic button and get them the Number 1 listing in Google. John Romaine:  That’s how it works. Barry Moore:  Exactly. John Romaine:  I’ve got Matt Cutts’ direct number here. Let’s call him and give him the web address and away we go. Barry Moore:  Fantastic. I think it’s up in that most people have heard of but they probably don’t have a really clear understanding of what SEO really is or all the different elements that go into it. Maybe we’ll start out with, if you can give us a brief introduction to what is SEO? John Romaine:  I have to admit, for your first question here, Barry, I cheated. I’ve just taken an excerpt from Wikipedia.
