TCHAIKOVSKY - Nutcracker - Arabian Dance
from Ted Sladovich · host Ted Sladovich
Tchaikovsky’s ballet “The Nutcracker” was adapted from E.T.A. Hoffman’s “the Nutcracker and the Mouse King,” which was premiered in St. Petersburg in December 1892. Interestingly, the first production was not a success, but the suite from the ballet was. Today, it is a staple of almost all ballet companies. My performance was captured and programmed using Notion Music software which incorporates the Vienna Instruments Symphonic Library. The library consists of actual instruments sampled and stored digitally. Each instrument is programmed and performed with Notion, one instrument and phrase at a time for the entire orchestral score. Dynamics, tempo, etc. are also tweaked in Notion and saved, then saved as a digital audio file. NOTICE TO AGENCIES CLAIMING COPYRIGHT OR ROYALTY INFRINGEMENT: The original ballet score was published by P. Jurgenson in 1892, therefore the music is in the public domain. The music is performed by myself and therefore no copyright or royalty claims can legally be challenged.
