TCNW 699: It's Real, Mayberry Patrol Car

Host: Allan Newsome Running time: 0:35:21 The Mayberry Man movie featured a car that was said to be a 'real' Mayberry patrol car but in actuality it was a very nice replica. That said, there is a real Mayberry patrol car located at Melody Ranch Studio in Santa Clarita Valley, CA. Since 1915, when the studio was first opened for business, an endless string of hard riding shoot-em-ups have been produced at the location. Melody Ranch Studio features a massive western town with interiors in the saloon, bank, jail, general store, hotel, church, school, livery stable, and theatre. On top of all that, they have a car that is very much believed to have been a screen used Mayberry patrol car. We'll hear from Andre Veluzat, one of the owners of the ranch, thanks to fellow Mayberry fan Bryan Schaffer who was visiting the ranch. We'll play some trivia and then hear from SpiritWalker with his "Returning to Mayberry" report. Finally, if you're still listening, I'll read a story about me.
