On April 8th, TCU's backcourt just took another hit as guard Lua Torres Lelovicius declared for the transfer portal. The 6'7 Lithuanian junior transferred from Oregon State last year and played one season with the Horned Frogs, suiting up for 34. Games with 22 starts. He averaged 8 points and 3.4 rebounds per game, nailing a team-high 88.7% from the free-throw line.
Lelovicius stood out as one of TCU's top shooters this past season, hitting 45.7% from the field and 38% from beyond the arc. Before landing in Fort Worth, he put up 8.7 points and 4 rebounds a game as a sophomore with the Beavers. It states, he's now the fifth Horned Frog to hit the portal, joining redshirt sophomores Jace Posey and R.J. Jones, plus redshirt freshman Ashton Simmons and freshman Caden Edwards.
Fans are feeling the shakeup as the roster keeps thinning out. This move gusts the team's wing and backward depth even more, especially with senior starter Jaden Pierre also heading out. Right now, only Brock Harding and Tanner Toulson bring real experience back to the guard spot next winter. Coaches will need to hustle in the portal to rebuild before the season tips off, keeping TCU competitive in a tough conference race.
