"This week's #ThisDealInHistory is from our late-night set at the Creekside Jamboree in June, 2003. The cut opens up with "Back Off" which, at the time, was a favourite launching pad of ours to let loose in the middle section. From '99 to '02 the "Back Off" jam section was usually moderately slower and more funk-oriented, but around 2003 we started shifting into more of an early 1980's repetitive European electro-based style. This version is a good example of that shift - more "nighttime highway drive" than in previous years. We then abruptly change" gears into our version of Pink Floyd's "Breathe". This cover didn't get played too often and often served as a gateway out of the slow interlude into something a little more frenetic, in this case "VL Tone" - i would imagine that we had just laid this down in the studio for the "Gone Gone Gone" album and were excited to play the recorded version in a live setting, hence the absence of a jam in this cut." - Jamie
