TDWS: Interviewing Political Candidates with Walter Rhein & Emily Berge--Promote Progressives As a New Substack Trend!

from Walter Rhein Podcast · host Walter Rhein, The Daily Whatever Show, Dana DuBois, and Emily Berge

Hey Everybody! It’s always my great delight to join Dana and Lawrence on the Daily Whatever! Today we had the honor of being joined by Emily Berge. She’s running for Congress in my district and I think she’s both a wonderful candidate and a wonderful human being.I’ve been interviewing a lot of candidates, and I keep hearing that grassroots candidates are being pressured by DC Democrats to not participate in primaries. To me, that is a losing strategy. Primaries are healthy! Primaries allow multiple candidates to canvas a district and educate the voters on the challenges we face as a nation. It allows good candidates to generate name recognition and run for other offices. We shouldn’t pick our candidates based on who brings in more out-of-state money. Our districts need to represent WE THE PEOPLE!So, you can check out Emily’s positions both in this interview and on her web page here. Just listen to her for a few minutes. It’s refreshing to hear from candidates who understand it’s a responsibility and a privilege to represent the people. You can also find Emily on Substack here:Thank you NeuroDivergent Hodgepodge, Cat: Poli-Psych, LeftieProf, Laura Tompkins, Ms.Yuse, and many others for tuning into my live video with Emily Berge, Dana DuBois, and The Daily Whatever Show!
