Each year Aotearoa about 300 whales and dolphins end up stranded on our beaches and those that don't survive are sometimes harvested for their bones, teeth and oil. Te Kaurinui Parata has accompanied his father to many whale strandings and has been learning the matauranga around strandings and the protocols to observe.
