Te Ururoa Flavell: Former Te Pāti Māori co-leader believes the party has lost its way

from The Mike Hosking Breakfast · host Newstalk ZB

A former Te Pāti Māori co-leader says the party can't box itself in, and needs to be inclusive.  Te Ururoa Flavell believes it's lost its way with infighting, personal attacks, and poor leadership, and change is needed.  He told Mike Hosking people on the ground are seriously questioning the direction of the party ahead of the election.  Flavell says there'll be some backlash and doesn't believe the party will be able to hold onto the six seats it currently does.  But current co-leader Debbie Ngarewa-Packer says she respects Flavell, but he's wrong, and the focus has to be changing the Government.  LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
