Believers must learn to receive counsel and correction without surrendering biblical discernment, while leaders must exercise authority without domination and remain teachable themselves. Healthy spiritual authority does not create dependence upon a person. It develops mature believers who are increasingly dependent upon Christ. The question is not simply whether you can submit to authority, but whether your heart remains humble enough to receive, discerning enough to test, and submitted enough to keep growing in Christ.
