Teacher Recognized for Building Student Confidence | Miami News

A South Miami Middle School teacher named Robert Rabelo is turning heads—not just for teaching social studies, but for building students’ character through his “Power of One” and “D-WOW Mindset of Success” clubs. His focus on self-belief and putting others first paid off when the Orange Bowl Committee honored him with a $1,000 check via their “Extra Yard for Teachers” program, recognizing educators who go above and beyond to shape young minds. His students were there to witness the moment—proof that real change happens in classrooms every day, and it’s worth celebrating.
