Teaching About Victim Mentality Triggers Most People

from Love, Evolved: Conscious Relationships with Leigh-Anne LoPinto · host Leigh-Anne LoPinto

Victim mentality is something we should all have compassion for, as it’s the way most of us are programmed from the start.Victim mentality is “poor me” thinking, feeling like life is against you. It’s a passive, disempowered state where one lacks agency and personal responsibility.Often, when we are stuck in victim mentality, life doesn’t feel good at all. We are stuck in a state of disappointment, depression, frustration, and often misery. We can feel disconnected from our power and even life force energy.I was in victim mentality for years and have a ton of compassion for those who are in it. I was forced to break free in 2016 with my most intense dark night of the soul. In this episode, I speak about how to break out of victim mentality in a way such that we don’t lose our self-compassion (or compassion for others).Personal responsibility is something we learn to step into adulthood, and this teaching should not be applied to children.I would love to hear your thoughts on this one, as this teaching can trigger a lot of people! I wouldn’t go there if I didn’t truly believe that it is one of the most important lessons I’ve learned in my almost 50 years here. Please comment below and let me know what you think.—Join us for Alchemy of the Heart - starts June 22!https://love-evolved.mykajabi.com/alchemy-of-the-heart-liveMy Story, Part 1: Healing from AbuseMy Story, Part 2: Recovering from Divorce--About me:My name is Leigh-Anne LoPinto, and my mission is to help co-create the new paradigm of relationships.
