Dr. Paul Carrese, Director of the Center for American Civics and Professor at Arizona State University’s (ASU) School of Civic and Economic Thought and Leadership (SCETL), joins the show by phone to talk about his newly-released book Teaching America: Reflective Patriotism in Schools, College, and Culture. As the country celebrates its 250th birthday, Dr. Carrese discusses the alarming signs of civic disintegration, including the decline of patriotism among younger generations and the rise of anti-American views in education.
