Teaching Anatomy with James Xavier Barbour

After teaching anatomy and art history for 21 years at Stanford University and the Academy of Art University, James Xavier Barbour decided to open his own school. He founded The Decorus Atelier of Figurative Art in Brooklyn, NY and is currently the primary instructor, along with two other instructors. Decorus Atelier is not your average art school, James has created an institution that brings teaching and learning back to the old fashioned way of studying anatomy and art with the local master. His approach is very personal, as he offers each student one-on-one instruction. James is passionate about expressing the eternal or universal truths that bind us as human beings as well our differences.
